Elton John’s 10th Annual White Tie & Tiaras charity ball brought out all the stars.
He and his partner David Furnish opened the doors of their Berkshire home each year to their celebrity friends.
This year, the guest roster included the Duchess of York and her daughter Princess Beatrice, Will Smith, Denzel and Paulette Washington, Bill Clinton, Mischa Barton, Gordon and Tana Ramsay, Elle MacPherson, Rod Stewart, Kirsten Dunst, Elizabeth Hurley, Eva Herzigova, Stephen Fry – who wore a white tie and a tiara, and the list goes on.
The 620 guests arrived at the Windsor mansion for and paid the £3,000 ($6,000 US) per ticket to help raise money for the Elton John AIDS foundation.
The theme was ‘beach party,’ but the only one who was on point with the theme was Elle MacPherson in her tasseled dress, gold sandal flats and headband.
The celebrity auction went off without a hitch. An oil painting by Mark Quinn went for £900,000. A private photographic portrait sitting with Mario Testino raised £800,000… In total, the auction raised £10 million for the Foundation, bringing the evening to a wonderful success as the charity took in over £60 million.
“I can die a very happy man,” said Elton.
