Sean Levert Sentenced To 22 Months: Dies Shortly After
39 year-old-Sean Levert, was recently sentenced to one year and 10 months in jail for failing to pay $85,000 in child support.
He passed away late Sunday evening at the Lutheran Hospital after being taken outo f the the Cuyahoga County jail (Cleveland, OH) in distress.
An autopsy will begin today to determine the cause of death and a toxicology report will take up to approximately six weeks. Sean suffered from high blood pressure and had been hallucinating in jail.
The warden claims Sean was sick and guards were watching him at the jail’s regular cellblock because he had been acting strangely. He did not specify what “strange” behavior Sean displayed nor about his medical condition.
This is shocking news on the heels of his brother, Geral Levert’s death in late 2006. Gerald was just 40-years-old when he died of an accidental mix of prescription and over-the-counter drugs.
Eddie Levert, their father and lead singer of the O’Jays, must be absolutely heart broken.
